Interpersonal Abilities

I feel that I exercise leadership in every aspect possible for my life. I communicate ideas in all kinds of ways to all kinds of people, and while I may not be one of the most persuasive people, I do find it easy to motivate others. I quickly learned that to encourage enthusiasm in others, you yourself have to be enthusiastic about what you and they are doing. From there, people can motivate themselves, but I also find that being excited, genuinely enjoying what you do, and lifting others up really helps with motivation. Whether I’m helping run Leadership, captaining robotics, or just part of a lab group, I always show up with enthusiasm, excitement, and a ballpoint pen! This easily carries over into my teamwork capabilities; I find that I can work well with others because I listen well, contribute where I can, and work to make sure that everyone has both a project they’re proud of and that they feel represents their idea(s). I have always been a fan of delegation, and I’m happy to pick up slack or trade responsibilities with group work.
