Technology

I use technology for all kinds of “scholastic needs”, especially with Distance Learning. From about halfway through freshman year, and still now, I have used a little old Chromebook for all of my schoolwork. I have kept it working, and I take it everywhere with me. While most people don’t prefer Chromebooks, I love mine! I can do all kinds of things with it, and I even used it to code a Jetson Nano! While I have since been lucky enough to get a monitor and an old MacBook, I still use the Chromebook! I waste no parts of the machine, and I find that I can succeed in all of my classes once I understand the necessary technology. I scan notes on my phone (as an avid believer of paper notes), I use Google Sheets for an inordinate amount of things, and I even use the stickies function on my computer (to add to the stickies all over my walls and desktop). While I may not have “modern” ways of completing my work and learning things, I have found a way to make it work with the technology I have. This isn’t to say that I haven’t encountered problems, though. Transitioning from Google/Android to a MacBook was not easy, and I’m still learning, but I figured it out! I know I am not the most technologically savvy, but I can troubleshoot like nobody’s business. I’ve been known to call and email service providers to fix issues with the internet and other technology, and I try to help those who are confused where I can.
